Speaking of being busy...

I forgot to mention that after I obtain my real estate license (which should happen over the summer months), I have been promised a full-time leasing agent/property manager position at Noral Asset Manangement (my newest employer). The position probably won't become available until the end of the year, at the earliest, when the owner, Al Hotchkiss (www.alhotchkiss.com), hands over the buisness to Bonnie McCauley, our property manager. She has said that I'm the girl she wants for the job, and it's mine, provided I get my license. So that made Brian and I very happy people!

Friendlies

Just thinking about how wonderful it is to have friends. Brian and I had a friend over for dinner the other night - someone that we both worked with and have known for about 3 1/2 years. As usual, we had a really nice time spending time with him. We don't often get together with him, but we should.
It's really strange how some friendships work out. Out of all the friends I've ever had, there are only a handful that I still talk to - why do we always seem to fall out of fellowship with our friends? Four to seven years ago, I had gobs of friends... where did they all go? It's like they all fell off the face of the earth... although they probably say the same thing about me. There are some people I haven't talked to or seen in years, and at this point in my life, don't even have a particular desire to see... but then there are those that I would give my right arm to spend time with. Being married definitely comes into play here... not having a lot of time or energy to spend with other people, and just being consumed with so many other things - work, kids, etc... but I still think that's a lousy excuse. I admit, I use the "too busy" excuse, but I hate myself for it. For those of you who are in school, working, whatever - make time for your friends, even if you're busy. Take time to fellowship with them. The rewards will be great.

Babies

In my first posting, I'd forgotten to mention in our "update" that we have also had two babies born into our families... the first was Joey, born March 17, to Frank and Julie of Lawton, OK and Aine, born March 19, to Katie and Jonathan of Bristol, VA. Now we're just awaiting the arrival of a little lady in June to Adam and Angie.

Moving

Well, thanks to the help of our parents, we were able to get most of our stuff into our new place on Tuesday. We still have a few things at the old apartment, but for the most part, we're done. Now we just have to get unpacked. It's been two days and I still can't find my hairbrush!
We're already missing our two lovely neighbors, Bonnie and her cat Mickey, and Adele and her cat Sweetheart. They were such wonderful company for us and we're missing them! It's only about a 2 minute walk between our buildings, but that's far enough.
Brian and his dad got back from their trip on Tuesday morning... they seemed to enjoy their trip, despite the fact that it was a very long drive and a very short trip. While they were gone, Mar helped me move some things, but mostly we just hung out and had fun :o)
Gotta get back to work.

Hey Everyone

So here I am... attemping to have a blog again. The last one didn't last very long, but hopefully we can keep up with this one! We're going to have to post to our blogs when we're working, since we don't have a computer at home yet, but that'll have to do for now.
Quick update on what's been happening with us:
Beginning of the year started off well enough - I was recovering from surgery and didn't go back to work until the 10th of Jan. It was tough getting back into the swing of things - I'd been off for a full month and was really enjoying my time! It wasn't too bad going back to work... I only complained for about the first week... or two...
My Mar ended up in the hospital in February with diverticulitis, but thankfully has recovered (as much as possible) and is back on her feet.
As most of you know, Brian's been working an incredible amount of hours the last few months and not surprisingly hasn't been sleeping that much. But he really does enjoy working hard and although it's less time we have together, it makes us really appreciate and enjoy the time we do have. Since he was so hard at work, I figured I better get another job too - who wants to stay home by themselves all the time! So now I'm working for a property management company for about 20-25 hours a week, doing their bookkeeping and stuff like that... it's similar to my job at the pathology lab, but I'm more involved in the actual bookkeeping rather than just making deposits and paying bills!
We're moving - this week actually. Same apartment complex, bigger (2 bedroom) apartment. We're hoping to get a house next year, after we pay off a few bills and pad up our savings account. We're pretty happy in our apartment though - it's nice and quiet where we live. I'm sure our dogs would appreciate more space to run, but they get enough of that when we take them out to my parents house.
Brian's heading out tomorrow morning with his dad to Oklahoma and Texas for the weekend. They'll get to visit some family, plus they're going to a Nascar race... definitely a boys weekend!
That's it for now. Take care, y'all.
