Just Stroll-ing Along . . .

so we had a little garage sale, made a little money, celebrated christopher's birthday, went to real seafood co., painted, laid around, ate teriyaki chickens, bought zane a wading pool, danced, took a chinese food picnic to the park, saw v for vendetta, hung out with mar, planted vegetables, and more. i love 3 day weekends.

yesterday was my marmee's birthday and we had a little party for her. we had smoked sausage, eric's burgers, baked beans, granny's potato salad, chips, cupcakes & strawberry tartlets. yay, cookouts are fun. the only thing missing was mindy and brandon and wendy :o( oh and katie and jonathan and eilidh and eoin and maire and aine. so ... like half the family :o)


we're having a garage sale tomorrow. i'm not even sure what time yet, but we're having one. yeah, i should probably start working on that :o)

we had a good weekend.

... i have been so tired lately. i've been putting on my jammies when i get home from work and after cooking supper and cleaning up, i almost pass out on the couch.

it must be the weather - so rainy and gross. yesterday afternoon wasn't too bad, i think i saw the sun for about 10 minutes.

so brian's been working hard and i've been tired and lazy. we got a lot of cleaning done on sunday, which is good, otherwise i'd feel really guilty about being lazy this week. oh well. at least i've been reading. (yes, again.)

... sleepy weekends.

had a busy, fun weekend. spent time with kd, fixed up the yard, planted delicious flowers, cleaned out gutters, brunch with kelly & craig.

this week we are attempting to:
attach trellis to side of porch for clematis.
take out nasty wrought iron front porch rail/back porch rail.
rip up living room/dining room carpet (yes it's new, we'd rather have hardwood floors).
paint kitchen ceiling.
cookout with kelly & craig on wed.
dinner at mar & dad's on thurs.
cherry fest on sat.
decide on colors for office, pick out paint.

i'm thinking now ... it's already tues. i'm sure half of this won't be completed, but at least i made a list.

we're at kd's doing shots of tequila and listening to the killers while mar and dad dogsit.
life is good.

We had another great weekend with friends. Saturday we spent the day in Jackson with Dean, Dawn, Brittany & Moose at their house and at the lake. We took Zane with us and he was just the perfect little puppy all day long. He got to swim for the first time and he loved it ... like so much that he didn't want to leave it. Anyway, they live in a nice little neighborhood and we had fun hanging out and eating and karaoke-ing with Brittany. We were very surprised after supper when they gave us a card filled with money - Brian's share of her mom's estate, Dawn said. Lovely surprise. It's always just when we're not sure what we're going to do that the Lord brings someone or something into our lives and reminds us that He always provides for us. Anyway, they are just about the sweetest people ever and it was so nice spending the day with them.
Sunday we took some bagels & coffee to Mar & Dad and ran some errands. Brian was sweet to let me buy the hydrangeas I wanted, and we bought the rest of the knobs and handles for our kitchen cabinets. I also cleaned out the office (it's almost completely empty now) and got a bunch of stuff together for our garage sale.
Work was kinda crappy for both of us yesterday so we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and picked up some stuff at Sam's - dog food, gigantic bottles of wine, 69 packs of gum ... you know the drill. After we got home, Bethany stopped over to give me my birthday present that finally came in - a hot pink tshirt that says .... "babette ate oatmeal!" It's freakin' awesome.
