the newness? fall brings.

Fall is my favorite season. The energy, the crispness in the air, the crunch of the leaves, the sharpened pencils. It probably has something to do with the fact that my family practically lived outdoors every Fall, picking apples and making them so shiny one could see their reflection in them, and pressing cider and building bonfires.
This year I may be more excited, or anticipatedly nervous, for several reasons ...
On September 9, Brian and I start our foster/adoptive parent training. It's all day long, every Saturday, for 5 weeks. This is something we were going to do last year at this time and decided, for several reasons, last minute to not take the classes. Our situation has changed, our lives have changed and we are eager to take this next step in our lives. While we hope to be able to adopt as quickly as possible, we know that it may take time and/or that we may just have to be foster parents for a while. We're okay with that. Our home is open, our hearts are open and we desire to fill them with little children and love. We'll take the prayers any of you wish to offer up on our behalf as we start this new adventure.
I'm also excited about several projects that we will be starting at home, some in the kitchen, some upstairs in my soon-to-be-office-slash-work-room. I have been so inspired lately and I have so many ideas! These things take time with us - budget constraints, time constraints - but we'll figure it all out.
I hope to take a few small classes too - jewelry, dance, another stained glass. We'll see if I can schedule my time properly!
We're planning on being in Philly either October 12 or 13-16. I want to hit a few stores, maybe the art museum, hang out with my sis and bro-in-law and drink cosmos! Oh yeah ... and eat.
More later!

Granted this photo was taken short-blonde-hair-phase-ago, pre-marriage- wouldn't it be awesome if I actually looked like Marg? She's a fox!

400

This is my 400th post. Congratulations to ME.

We are all moved into our new office - it took two days of packing, one day of moving and one day of unpacking, but we're moved in and (almost) everything is in its place. I actually have a REAL desk and a REAL phone ... and a cute little plant in a red pot. We're now on-site at one of the apartment complexes my boss owns and we manage.

So ... embarrassing thing that happened earlier - I was on the phone with Toledo Edison and I'd apparently forgotten to turn off my cell ringer, because it rang. Which would have been no big deal but it was Brian. And his ringer is a Marvin Gaye song. Yeah ... Sexual Healing. So the Edison girl AND Bonnie got to hear that lovely song because I couldn't even reach my phone to shut off the ringer.

Alrighty then, I have more to say, but lots to do, so BUHBYE.
