Just Stroll-ing Along . . .

Last week Brian's ex-mother-in-law (Kelly's mother) had a massive heart attack & stroke. She seemed to be doing okay at first, despite the fact that her entire right side was paralyzed. They thought she was getting better, but instead she got worse . . . they took transferred her from the hospital to Hospice on Saturday. She passed away yesterday morning. Obviously it's been more difficult for Brian than for myself, but Kelly & Craig are such good friends and it really hurts to see them grieving. We are trying to help them take care of her house and get things ready for the funeral on Friday. It's been pretty tough on Brian, since she was his mother for a long time.
On a happy note, KD came down on Saturday and stayed the weekend with us. We had so much fun! Saturday we hung out at the mall and went to Build-A-Bear - that was fun. We both picked out the softest bear ever. That night we drank Mike's Hard Lime and watched Family Guy episodes. Sunday we went to the movies, had stir-fry for supper and watched a scary movie with Kelly & Craig. We ate yummy fruit tart! Then after Kelly & Craig left we played Truth or Dare Jenga until 2 am ... slept 'til 10 on Monday and went out to IHOP. Then we set up our computer and she went home. (DON'T LEAVE US KD). Mar and Gramma came out and we all went to City Q for supper - yum!
This week I have a dr's appt and we're both taking Friday off for the funeral. I'm planning the food for afterwards and we're supposed to help them go through Betty's house again tonight.
Also KD is presenting a Party-Lite party at my house the end of September... details forthcoming!
